Be Smart Grow Art

Artists and Art enthusiasts, looking to promote cultural opportunities and greater arts support in Gilbert, initiating a grass roots effort to connect individual artists, art groups, community members and supportive businesses, creating the “Grow Arts Co-operative”.

Working on their own, artists are at a disadvantage, lacking an effective relationship with the community members in a significant consistent way. We saw this as the perfect space in which to build a mutually beneficial relationship. We envision regular cultural and visual arts events, in locations in Gilbert and Southeast Valley, partnering with local businesses and the HRCAP as endorsement. This will enliven Gilbert, increasing awareness and access to all the visual arts. Establishing an online local artist registry for the public to view will serve artists and increase their exposure.

As we grow in members, we build momentum to educate town representatives about what the arts can do for the community in a practical way, demonstrating that developing a cultural and arts emphasis makes good business sense for everyone. Using our unified voices, we strengthen our influence, building consensus and gaining support. We feel dedicating resources for the arts will benefit all who live and visit our community providing us with the best possible environment to raise our families, maintaining a permanent, active cultural life.
